Remember this skirt?
I decided that it would be the perfect skirt for Easter. The $78 price tag? Not so perfect. Thankfully I had the perfect solution.
That solution came in the form of an envelope from McCalls Pattern Company with the number 5431 on it. After a quick trip to JoAnn Fabrics, an hour of cutting, one phone call to my mom, and an hour of sewing the perfect solution looked something like this:
Did you notice that the yoke on Peachy's dress matches my skirt? I actually made her dress first. When I went looking for fabric for myself I found the piece again and decided we could pull off a little matchy-matchy.
Peachy's dress is from the New Look patten 6878. The fabric was also purchased at JoAnn's.

Wow, it turned out great. Could you be a little cuter, too? And I love Peachy's dress, too!
I always have big aspirations to sew skirts and dresses like I've seen in stores - but I never find fabric that I think is comparable to what stores actually sell. Apparently you don't have that problem, teach me :)
Cute! I'm feeling that this spring/summer needs to be filled with homemade skirts.
I love this skirt. You did a great job!! I love how you two coordinate. I do the same thing...especially for holidays. Thanks for sharing!! I am visiting from Whatever Wednesday!

very cute. I have been wanting to make matching skirts for me and my two girls. they are young and they have skirts that look like yours and well the pattern i had for them didn't cover measurements for adults. i will have to look up this pattern at joanne's
Super cute! Love your fabric choices!
We have a Friday Fun Finds party (on Fridays, of course)... If you're interested, we'd love it if you'd link up this week!
So cute!! I picked out the same exact pattern so my mom could make me some skirts. My sewing machine doesn't work right now so I'm asking her to make them for me. The top that you are wearing matches it perfect and it looks great together!!
Very cute! I attempted a similar skirt without a pattern and I ended up looking like a blimp. Maybe next time I'll get the pattern. Thanks for sharing!
You did an amazing job - Your skirt looks fabulous! Wish I had the nerve to sew some clothing! Would love to have you stop by the Sunday Showcase Party if you get a chance ~ Hope you are enjoying your weekend! This is really pretty - Love the fabric!
