Christmas Confession

I have something to admit to all of you. It has to do with seasons and Holidays and you may not all agree. For some reason, this year, I am all about Christmas. Normally I wait until after Thanksgiving to break out the Christmas cheer, but right now I am all about bringing on the jolliness. I have about 75% of my Christmas shopping done. I have the girls' Christmas dresses ready. Last week I bit the bullet and ordered our Christmas cards from Shutterfly.
Although I have yet to start decorating, I keep pinning and pinning items on Pinterest for Christmas. And I can't wait to start decking the halls here. Today I am going to share with you some of my favorite pins for Christmas.
For Decorating:
1. I am loving this easy, yet beautiful, ribbon star from Beyond The Picket Fence. (Now if only I had a stash of old barn wood sitting around.)
2. Another simple and stunning little project. This candle scene is from this Swedish blog: http://tradgardsflow.blogspot.com/. (Lucky for me I already have some large glass hurricanes courtesy of my sister's wedding this summer and just picked up from burlap ribbon to complete the look.)
3. I love this frame with the ornaments as a wreath or hung somewhere on the wall. This is an image from Pinterest that is uploaded by a user. However, it was featured on the blog This Flourishing Life.
4. Another use for those glass hurricanes! Check out these great painted pine cones from Julie of Joy's Hope featured on Under the Sycamore. (Now if only I could find some pine cones that aren't cinnamon scented.)
5. I can't wait to try something like this with the old window I have hanging out in our living room. Check it and some other great ideas out at Funky Junk Interiors.

For Eating:
1. Wouldn't this be super fun at any Christmas party? I would imagine you take mini wieners and wrap them with crescents arranged in a circle on a baking sheet. (The link for this image is to a Christmas page from Oriental Trading that appears to be no longer available.)

F-A-L-L Letters

Another week and another Pinterest Project! The host decided that we would be decorating letters with buttons. There are so many great and different ideas for this out there. I decided to change things up a bit and decorate not only with buttons, but with some other items as well. My love of all things fall lead me to choose the letters F-A-L-L. While the project wasn't done during the palydate, it was completed! And here it is:

I wrapped the F in twine like I did for the S on my wreath.

I used buttons for the A. I ordered mine from Amazon. (Here and here.)

I used leftover wreath fabric that I tore into strips and tied on the first L.

I used a mix of fall colored beads for the second L.

I love:

Pin It! Fall Wreaths

Our Pinterest group met a while back to work on wreaths. While we all made fall wreaths, two of us made rag wreaths and two made yarn ball wreaths.
Here is the rag wreath that I worked on:
I used a wire wreath form that I bought at JoAnn Fabrics. It had four wires so it took a while to tie all of the strips of fabric onto it. The original tutorial I followed said that she used quarter yards of four different fabrics. I ended up having to go back and get additional quarter yards.
I cut my fabrics into six by one inch strips and double knotted them onto the frame. I purchased the "S" from Hobby Lobby and wrapped it in twine.
Here is Jenna's original rag wreath.
Her "E" was also purchased at Hobby Lobby. She ended up painting it and sanding the edges.
Even though we complained about how long the wreaths took, she decided to make another one with a Halloween twist.
Here is Lori's yarn ball wreath.
And Lisa's with the leaves.
We were all commenting on how fun it is to see how the projects can turn out differently even with the same original concept.

Pin It! Barrettes

Have I mentioned my love for Pinterest? Oh, I have, well, I just thought that I would mention it again. (By the way, if you would like to follow me, you can find me here: Bowl of Cherrys at Pinterest I know that I am not the only one, either! I have introduced a few of my friends to Pinterest and we all love it. In fact, I think our husbands may need a support group for spouse's of Pinterest addicts. We have actually started to get together a couple times a month to work on our Pinterest projects. While the children happily play, us moms get down to the business of crafting. We all try to pick a similar project to work on so that we can share supplies. (Quite often we also bring Pinterest recipes to share.) So far we have done wreaths, coaster, and most recently barrettes. I will try to get pictures of everyone else's projects, but for today here are the barrettes that I made along with the Pinterest link.

1. and 3. Cereal Box Bow
2. Ric Rac Flower
4. Flower Barrettes from Make Bows and More
