Little Peachy can be quite the chatterbox at times. She likes to sprinkle real words in with her made-up gibberish. Here she is after dinner one night talking to mom and dad.

Its a Jungle Out There
We've got a jungle growing in our back yard.
Somehow as first year gardeners we have a garden explosion on our hands.
So far we have enjoyed lots of spinach and lettuce, basil, dill, cilantro, a few tomatoes, and one harvest of green beans.
Want to know our trick?
Plant late and use old seeds.
Seriously, I think that it is a combo of the city compost and the ideal growing conditions, hot and wet.
I am just hoping we can have the same success next time around.
We also had a few surprises pop up in the garden.
Yes, they come equipped with solar lights.
Thanks to our neighbor, we have some well-lit garden guardians.

Tutorial Tuesday: Pleated Flower Pin
Did you notice the skirt Peachy was wearing for the photo shoot? It took me a little bit to figure out what we should all wear. I decided to go with a less is more approach and keep us all coordinating without being matchy-matchy. The pattern for the skirt can be found on Etsy at Noodles and Milk.
The pattern is very simple and easy enough for a beginning sewer. I have had this thing with adding flowers to my creations lately, and decided to try this tutorial from Cute As a Fox. I decided to make my flower with 10 petals. I made five a little bit bigger and five a little bit smaller. I also added a covered button to the middle. This is an easy way to make adorable flowers. I can't wait to make some more!

Sorry this one is on its side. I guess it didn't have its V-8!! |

Another Silhouette Giveaway
Have I ever told you that I am the proud owner of a Silhouette? Yeah, not what you are thinking. We have an Oldsmobile Silhouette minivan. And while I love it, I would really like to own the Silhouette cutting machine. I have entered all of the giveaways in blogland to no avail. But this time it is going to be different, right? Right??? Amy at the Idea Room is giving a away a Silhouette and I am using this blog post to get myself another entry. And then I am going to post about it on Facebook to get myself another entry. Okay, off to win me a Silhouette!!
Out First Photo Shoot

Lindsey took over 400 photos during our 40 minute session. She was a rock star! The girl was lugging her equipment all over the place. She was shaking keys to keep Peachy looking her way.

While Peachy was much more interested in exploring than sitting and posing nicely, we got some great pictures. I love how many of Peachy's expressions were captured. I also love the fact that we now have some really nice family photos. I am looking forward to meeting up with Lindsey and doing it again in the future.
