Dinosaur Baby Shower

Even though it really isn't spring around these parts yet, it is the season of showers. Baby showers, that is. Last week I shared the Minnie Mouse shower I got to help out with. This week I am back with a dinosaur shower. Once again, I wasn't the mastermind behind the shower, just a willing helper where needed.

There were darling banners made by my friends with their cutting machines. The top is a line up of dinosaur silhouettes and the bottom is a banner that says "God Bless Our Boys."
There "dinosaur claws" were a hit. The kiddos loved the Bugles and it brought back yummy memories for the mommas.

The food was labeled Herbivore and
 Carnivore
 Goodie bags for the kids.
 Some dinosaur onesies.
 A darling scrap fabric banner.
Who doesn't love some good old prehistoric punch?
And finally some dinosaur egg cake balls.
So much fun!

A Minnie Mouse Baby Shower

My friend Tina is a Disney addict. (Sorry, Tina, but it is true.) So, when it came time to plan a shower for her first daughter, the theme was a given, Minnie Mouse. I wasn't in on much of the planning of this shower, but my friends who planned it did a great job.

There were Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Sandwiches
Served on Minnie Mouse Plates made by putting three black plates together with a bow
Eaten with Mouseketools
And followed by cupcakes topped with Oreo Minnies
There was a fabulous Minnie Mouse Diaper Cake
And Minnie Clips for the girls and Mickey bowties for the boys
I tell you, my friends know how to throw a shower. (And I have a dinosaur one to share with you next!)

Baby Boy Gifts

Remember that Harley baby shower I wrote about a few weeks back? Well, here is the fun gift that I made for little Owen.
2 bibs, 2 burp cloths, monthly onesie picture kit, 4 pee pee tee pees, and 1 pacifier holder. I  made it all from 4 different 1/3 cut fabrics, and 1 yard of flannel with various other items.
I made the bibs using this great tutorial and pattern from Lots of Pink Here. I used flannel for the backing and a fusible batting for the middle layer. Instead of adding velcro, I used a loop of elastic cord and a button. The center is embellished with ric rac.

For the monthly onesie picture kit, I packaged up 4 different sized plain onesies, 12 month stickers that I designed on Publisher and printed on sticker paper, and a sticker holder with an elastic loop and button closure.
The pacifier clip is made using a mitten clip on one end of a strip of fabric and an elastic loop on the other end. The burp cloths are just a rectangle of fabric with flannel backing. I made them into "cupcakes" using a printable I purchased at KdBuggie Boutique on Etsy. I followed the tutorial on Saturday Mornings for the PeePee TeePees.
I wrapped it all up in a box, which of course I didn't take a picture of, but you can see it on the left side of the picture above.
I think I will be making lots of these fun baby kits as baby presents. They are fun and easy to put together and I can't think of a new mom who wouldn't appreciate some homemade baby goods.

Motorcycle Baby Shower

Our playgroup did it again and hosted another baby shower. (You can read all about shower #1 here and shower #2 here.) This time we waited to throw the shower until after the baby's arrival. Therefore we knew that it was a boy. Since his parent's are both Harley owners, a motorcycle theme seemed perfect. Lori, the hostess with the mostest, party planner extraordinaire!!, came up with lots of the fun ideas and got us all organized to do our part.
Here are some highlights of the day:
Decor-
We hosted the event in the momma baby's basement which is already Harley themed. Perfect! In addition to what was already there, these touches finished it off:

Check out the awesome motorcycle diaper "cake."

Lori had me make the onesies and she made the clothes pins to use them as decor.
Becky made this cool word art for Owen.
Food-
Of course we served pigs in a blanket and pulled pork. Along with punch, cupcakes, fruit, veggies, and chips.

Favors-
Janet crafted these chocolate motorcycles for favors.

And the lovely family!
Congrats Momma Lisa and Big Sis Annabel! Welcome Owen!!

A Shower for Baby Cream

**Don't forget!! Baby Week is coming!!**
*************************************************************
My wonderful friends recently threw me and Baby Cream a surprise shower. It was scheduled as a regular playdate, but as soon as I pulled into the driveway I knew something was up. I was right on time and everyone else was there already. Apparently I should have warned Peachy. She didn't have the best reaction when we walked in the door to everyone yelling "surprise!"
There were plenty of cute decorations and favors!
M and M favor jars
Cream Soda, Straw, and Candy Necklace Favor
Tissue Paper Pom-Poms
Baby Cream Banner and Itsy Bitsy Baby Clothes
What shower would be complete without yummy treats?? There were cream puffs, cookies and cream cookies, eclairs, and lots of delicious Mexican food!!
Can you see the pictures on the table? They are my pregnancy pictures from the blog and ultrasound pictures. So sweet.
Check out these adorable, edible pacifiers!!
Of course, the day was even more wonderful being surrounded by great friends and their children!

Thanks, ladies, for the wonderful surprise, great friendship, and all of the great baby loot!! You are all the best!
